Mobile communication is one of the fastest evolving fields right now. 15 years ago who would have thought mobiles phones would evolve so much. However, so far it has been that we use our sight, voice/hearing and touch to interact with these devices.
Also, developments in the field of Bioinformatics have been mind boggling. Look at the following links for examples:
Link 1: http://engineeringworks.tamu.edu/index.php/2010/science-fiction-to-medical-reality-the-bionic-arm/
Link 2: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ogBX18maUiM
Link 1 shows how a tiny electric pulse on a nerve could be read and used as a signal (1 or 0). Link 2 shows how we can decode brain signals in to useful information.
To start off, if a phone or an external device linked to the phone could read a voluntary neuron pulse and use that as a signal to may be answer a call and hang up; we are talking about the beginning of a new era in mobile communication.
Then building up on the second link, we could take this idea forward and type messages as we think and send or call specific people as we wish, without even touching the phone.
I know I am being very ambitious. But then again, what was a mobile phone 15 years ago?
Any thought on this?
